Iowa artist Julia Lohrman Audlehelm was commissioned to do the pen and ink architectural portrait above to commemorate the centennial of the President’s Residence at The University of Iowa.
Born and raised in Bettendorf, Julia attended The University of Iowa where she graduated in 1977 with a BS in recreation education. She began developing her pen and ink portraits in the early 1980’s while living in Des Moines. She has done numerous individual homes, commercial buildings and street scenes. Her clients include Senator Tom Harkin, Wells Fargo Financial, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Terrace Hill, the Iowa Bar Association, and the Des Moines Public Schools.
Julia is currently employed by Goodwill of the Heartland as a retail skills trainer. She and her husband, Larry, also an Iowa graduate, live in North Liberty.
